Former MP and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao’s Daughter, Kavitha is almost finalized for Nizamabad’s local body MLC. She will file her nomination today. Kavitha surprisingly lost the recent General Elections to a BJP Candidate and has been politically inactive since then.
There were rumors that she will be nominated to Rajya Sabha but KCR did not do that. For the first time, she was being brought into the State Politics via Council. After TRS won the 2014 elections, there were rumors that KCR intentionally sent her to the Parliament so that there are no multiple power centers in the State.
On expected lines, Harish Rao was neutralized, Kavitha was sent to Delhi and KTR was handed over the mantle even though KCR is the Chief Minister. This move of bringing her back into State Politics when there were speculations of KTR’s elevation around the corner is very interesting.
In another angle, KCR inducted her back into Nizamabad Politics as she was made Nizamabad’s local body MLC. Even though MLCs will have very little role in the constituency, being the Chief Minister’s daughter, she will still enjoy the clout.
