Telangana Government had extended the financial assistance of Rs 13,000 to the pregnant woman and KCR Kits under ‘Amma Odi’ scheme for the deliveries that happened in government hospitals across the state but then, the scheme has effectively increased corruption in maternity hospitals.
Fake deliveries are becoming rampant in the hospitals while the staff of the hospitals right from sanitary workers to doctors are demanding bribes for the deliveries that happen there since they are getting benefits from the state government.
They are defending their bribe demands saying that the scheme has added to the work of the staff in the gynecology wards and the shortage of staff is now being acutely felt. A noble scheme leading to bad after effects.
