KCR’s Lifeline For Cinema TheatersNow that the governments Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have permitted reopening of cinema halls, theater managements are set to resume operations. Tollywood box office is set to get back on track from as early as 30th July as two films, namely Thimmarasu and Ishq – Not A Love Story are gearing up for theatrical release.

For the past few weeks, exhibitors and standalone cinema hall owners have been requesting the government of Telangana to permit them to charge vehicle parking fees in order to recover from the financial losses they suffered due to Covid pandemic.

Incidentally, the government of Telangana has provided standalone cinema theater
(single screens) managements with a some much needed relief by permitting them to charge vehicle parking fee. A related order was passed a short while back. This can be considered as a lifeline to theater managements from the chief minister KCR.

However, this government order isn’t applicable for multiplexes and malls. The exception is germane only to single screen theaters.
