KCR-Modi-final-meetTelangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao has decided to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi for one final time before approaching courts over Andhra Pradesh refusing rightful share of Power to the state. This meeting may take place next week when the Prime Minister meet all the Chief Ministers of the country over the changes planned to the Planning Commission.

KCR will put up the responsibility of solving this power tangle as it was the responsibility of the Centre to implement the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act in “letter and spirit”. According to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act, the power should be divided in the population ratio between both the states from the Central power plants. AP however is refusing to give power share from projects which do not have approved PPAs.

Andhra Pradesh government’s argument is that Telangana state will only get the share in equity for the amount they invested in the project but not the power.
