KCR hyderabad mapTelagana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is readying all his forces for the upcoming all important GHMC elections. After a series of settlers’ wooing measures, KCR now shifted his focus on to old city trying to bring as many as local leaders to the party. TRS has Zero presence in Old City. In fact, MIM has grown strong in the region over the decades leaving no space to other parties.

Congress party totally left the area to MIM and used to contest in alliance with the party. KCR first tried to adopt the same strategy to bag Old City through MIM. However differences arouse between the government and MIM on several issues like Metro alignment and Land Regularization etc. So KCR now wants to grow there independently.

Commercial taxes minister Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, who until recently was TDP’s Greater Hyderabad unit president is entrusted the task of wooing local leaders to TRS. The minister undertook padayatras last week in Charminar, Bahadurpura, Chandrayangutta and Nampally constituencies and got several leaders of TDP join the pink party. Other leaders like deputy chief minister Md Mahmood Ali and TRS Hyderabad parliamentary in-charge Rasheed Sharief are also actively working to strengthen the party in the Old City.
