The recent Miyapur Lands Scam is the first major Land Scam in Telangana and is being called as Mother of Land Scams by the Political Analysts. Telangana General Secretary, Kesava Rao’s family purchased 50 acres of land in Hafeezpur village in Ibrahimpatnam Mandal near Hyderabad and 38 acres of that are forest lands.
Keshava Rao came before media and said the court gave directions on which the registration is effected and the entire transaction is legal. But then, according to the high court website, the case is still pending, as on June 1, 2017.
If Keshava Rao’s transaction was legally clear, why was the in charge sub-registrar Saleha Qadeer suspended after the audit revealed this transaction? The total scam is reportedly worth 10000 Crore and it will be tough to believe that it has happened with no political involvement.
Goldstone Prasad, the Prime accused in this scam has been seen in the company of one of the secretaries to a senior minister in the KCR cabinet. One of his relatives is posted as an officer in the Chief Minister’s Office. Prasad is currently absconding.
