Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is reportedly extremely displeased with the outcome of the GST Council meeting which happened the other day in Delhi. Center had decided to levy 12% GST on the existing Projects by the State Governments.
This will be a huge burden for the state exchequers. Telangana Government which had started several projects post the state formation will have a big impact due to this. CM KCR reportedly vented his displeasure on this decision. Telangana asked for a total waiver of GST on irrigation, drinking water, housing schemes and roads.
The Chief Minister is going to write a letter of protest to the Prime Minister and is keen on talking to other Chief Ministers to lead a protest against the Center’s decision. KTR represented Telangana in the meeting after Finance Minister, Eetela Rajendra is not available.
