KCR To Lay Stone For Hyderabad Metro Phase IIOn Sunday afternoon, MA&UD minister KTR announced that Telangana chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao will lay the foundation stone on December 9 for the Airport Express Metro corridor. The project is 31 km long and will begin at the Mindspace junction and will end at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shamshabad. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 6250 crores.

Minister KT Rama Rao on Twitter wrote, “Hyderabad is Forging Ahead. Happy to announce that Hon’ble CM KCR Garu will be laying the foundation for Airport Express Metro on 9th December. This project starting at Mindspace junction to Shamshabad Airport will be 31 KM long & will be costing approximately ₹6,250 Cr.”

The high-speed Metro Rail line would have both elevated and underground parts, with 2.5 km of the overall length underground. The project will be supervised by the Hyderabad Airport Metro Rail.

The Metro is projected to connect the main city to the airport in only 20 minutes. Some of the stations that are scheduled to be are Bio-Diversity Junction, Nanakramguda, Narsingi, TS Police Academy, Rajendranagar, Shamshabad, and Airport Cargo station and terminal.
