Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao is planning to expand his cabinet next week. This will be the first cabinet expansion of KCR after forming the government. It is said that KCR will be taking 5 new minister including a woman minister in to the cabinet in this expansion. Currently there are 12 ministers including himself in the cabinet and constitution provides provision to have six more.
KCR however will only take 5 now and will later take one more. With this, aspirants have started to do rounds around KCR and his confidantes to confirm berths in this expansion itself. KCR’s cabinet has 4 Reddys, 3 Velamas (including KCR), 2 BCs, 2 SCs and 1 Minority. Since there is no woman minister in the cabinet, it is expected that Konda Surekha stands a chance to bag a berth.
