KCR to Dilute Landmark Telugu RuleTelangana Government has made Learning Telugu Compulsory in all the schools from Classes I to XII from the next year. While the majority welcomed this move, some have criticized it as Language Imposition. The government seems to be diluting the rule now.

The government has clarified that there will be no exam for students to those who do not opt for Telugu in their curriculum but they have to learn the basics of the language. Exams will be held to those choosing Telugu as a Subject.

The government will present a draft policy soon to clear any doubts. If these riders are implemented, then there will be no use of this rule. The rule making Telugu compulsory will cover CBSE, ICSE and international schools as well as Kendriya Vidyalayas run by the Center, the government earlier said.
