KCR-Tightens-Screws-Over-the-State-CoffersTelangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao seems to have understood the gravity of the situation in the wake of economic slowdown gripping the country. With the state finances dwindling. KCR reportedly decided to take some tough steps. This involves the increase in prices and also plugging the gaps in various welfare schemes.

The Government already increased the Prices of RTC Tickets and the other day, it has hiked liquor prices by 10% which will generate an additional Rs 400 Crore to state coffers. Liquor is one area that will continue to pump funds to the State Exchequer. The Chief Minister is also of the opinion not to announce any new welfare schemes until a year of the elections.

Also in the coming days, the Government will also implement stringent norms in decreasing the beneficiaries of various welfare schemes. For instance, Rythu Bandhu is being given to the farmers who even have 100s of acres. The Government will bring some reasonable terms and conditions so that only the deserving get the government schemes’ benefits.

All these measures if implemented properly will help the state tide over the crisis, the Government sources.
