Telangana Government has declared that its Pilot Project of 24X7 Power Supply to Agriculture from November 6th is a success and the 24X7 Power Supply to Agriculture will begin from January 1st, 2018 officially. But then, experts say that government is risking with this scheme.
They say the Pilot Testing happened when the demand from agriculture is at the lowest and the scheme will face severe challenges during its actual rollout when the demand will be at the peak. Experts also say that this scheme is dangerous since uninterrupted power will mean that water table will be depleted and which will only mean more trouble for the farming.
This is one of the slew of schemes being rolled out by the KCR government to impress the farmers. Earlier the government also announced Free Fertilizers scheme. Under this scheme, every farmer will get 4000 Per Acre in a season. Thus 8000 Rupees will be given for every acre in the state in a year.
