KCR Repenting Support to Narendra ModiTRS government had passed the GST bill before any other state in the country but is now regretting its haste as the government is repenting its enthusiasm in extending all-out support to the bill as over 32 products and services landing higher rate slabs.

Among several objections of the state, the finance ministry revised rates only on spectacles and entertainment tax on below Rs 100 cinema tickets and left all others unchanged. Telangana is witnessing a major dent in its income with the introduction of the GST.

The state government will also be burdened with a higher tax on irrigation projects, road and water supply schemes. The higher tax incurred by the contractors will also escalate the project cost. Telangana wanted a review of GST on beedis, drainage pipes, granite, and other products but they are untouched.
