YSR Congress party used to make corruption allegations on Velagapudi Secretariat that is constructed during Chandrababu Naidu’s rule.
Back then, the government paid 600 Crore to contractors for the construction of the secretariat to create Six Lakh Square feet of office space paying 527 Crore Rupees.
The allegation is that the cost of construction per square foot is very high and involves corruption.
Cut to now, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao inaugurated the Hyderabad Police Command Center in Banjara Hills Road No. 12 today.
The command center was built in 6.42 lakh square feet at Rs 600 Crore.
Interestingly, Velagapudi Secretariat is completed in just seven months while the Hyderabad Police command center took more than seven years to complete.
“Numerous such allegations which TDP failed to counter or neglected to counter have cost them power and ensured a bitter defeat in 2019,” TDP supporters lament.
