Telangana Rashtra Samiti is the part of the coalition government led by the Congress in 2004. KCR himself has got shipping Ministry back then in the Union Cabinet. Former President and the key man in the UPA government back then, Pranab Mukherjee revealed an interesting aspect which happened back then.
Pranab has entrusted the job of finalizing the portfolios. Naturally, Pranab approached KCR to know his choice of the portfolio. Here is an excerpt from the former President of India’s recently released book, ‘The Coalition Years’.
Pranab mentioned in the book – KCR told me, ‘Pranabji, you know my ambition; I want a separate Telangana. Which portfolio you give to me is not important. Whatever you give, I will gladly accept. But for God’s sake, please consider a separate Telangana’ This endorses CM KCR’s character and commitment to Telangana cause
