KCR's Operation Akarsha on 12 Congress MLAs?If the rumours doing rounds in some Political circles are to be believed, at least 12 MLAs of the Congress Party are in touch with TRS to defect from the party and board the car. These MLAs do not see any future for Congress and also feel that they cannot sustain in the Opposition for the next five years.

KCR is keen on merging the Legislative Party of Congress into TRS and deny the Opposition Leader post to Congress. Accordingly to rules, a party has to get 10% of the total seats to be called as a Principal Opposition in the State Assembly. That means Congress will need at least 12 and it currently has 19.

If at all 12 MLAs join TRS, it will become Seven for Congress and the Opposition Status is lost. If KCR manages to do this feat, it will defeat the party’s morale ahead of the 2019 Parliament Elections. KCR is keen on denying a single MP for Congress from Telangana at any cost to help his National Ambitions.
