Telangana Finance Minister, Harish Rao will take over Health Portfolio and will also be in charge of Health ministry in state. After Eatala Rajender was ousted, CM KCR held the health portfolio up until now. Orders were issued on Tuesday giving Harish Rao an additional charge.
Political analysts say that CM KCR has become cautious after the Huzurabad By-election defeat and this is a way to keep Harish Rao happy. For a long time, there were rumors that Harish is disgruntled at being ignored by KCR at the behest of his son, KTR.
We even hear about Harish Rao waiting for the right time to ditch KCR even though the former rubbished it many times. So, this may be KCR’s way of pacifying Harish Rao, analysts believe. KCR has attended two Pressmeets this week already. There were times that he did not even meet the Press once in a whole year.
All these changes seem to be the impact of Huzurabad By-election. KCR seems to be keen on retaining power for the third term at any cost. Telangana will go for the Assembly Elections in 2023.
