Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao is representing the Gajwel constituency after the state bifurcation.
Vanteru Pratap Reddy who contested against KCR in 2014 and 2018 is in BRS now.
There are rumors that KCR will look to contest from another constituency in the coming elections.
KCR previously contested as Siddipet MLA, Karimnagar MP (three times), and Mahabubnagar MP (one time) during the Telangana agitation.
BJP is giving a tough contest to BRS in certain districts. KCR wants to contest from any of the constituencies in these districts.
KCR believes he will be able to influence the electorate in the whole district.
Recently, Harish Rao also dropped a hint about the same in a meeting in Gajwel. He said KCR is under pressure from many leaders asking to contest from their districts.
Telangana assembly elections are scheduled to happen in December. There are rumors that KCR may go for early elections so as not to give time for the Opposition to prepare.
If KCR wins this election, he will become the first to win three elections on a trot in Telugu history.
