Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced Late Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao’s Daughter, Surabhi Vani Devi as TRS candidate for the upcoming Hyderabad – Rangareddy – Mahabubnagar districts Graduates MLC elections. He handed over the party B-form to her today.
KCR is aggressively wooing the Brahmin Community by giving so much of importance to Late PV Narasimha Rao. The Telangana Government is celebrating PV’s Centenary Birth Celebrations on a grand scale. PV’s daughter was promised an MLC berth in MLAs Quota.
That would have been an easy win for Vanisri who is not into a direct politics. But then, contesting direct election is extremely risky because it is a tough seat for TRS. The party did not even win from there during the prime of TRS and it is not easy with anti-incumbency rising.
There were reports that TRS will not field a candidate in this election fearing defeat and may lend support to some Left candidate. But since that would send wrong signals, TRS had decided to contest. But then, there comes a question if KCR is making PV Daughter a scapegoat for political gains.
