Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao announced that the government is on track with its plans to create new districts on Dasara that falls on October 11 and the notification on forming the new districts will come out in the third week of this month, after August 20.
The Chief Minister had decided that there need not be any political consideration with other parties on this issue meaning that government will be unilaterally deciding the districts which will have an impact on generations to come. There is already a criticism that the districts are being drawn as per political benefits of the ruling party.
The Chief Minister just appointed a cabinet sub-committee comprising deputy chief ministers Md Mahmood Ali, Kadiyam Srihari and ministers Nageswara Rao, Etela Rajender and Jupalli Krishna Rao to monitor all the work related to new districts’ creation. That means no participation of other parties, people, and other NGOs, giving rise to the doubts if Telangana government is really following any scientific methods to chalk out the new districts.
