If the buzz from Delhi is to be believed, the Election commission is likely to hold elections for Sanathnagar constituency in February along with the Delhi Bypolls. The bielection is necessitated by the resignation of Talasani Srinivas Yadav who jumped in to TRS for a cabinet berth.
However, the ruling party is worried if they are ready to face the election very soon. TRS is traditionally weak in the GHMC area due to the presence of settler population here. However Talasani’s resignation letter is still with the Chief Minister and is pending the Governor’s approval. It is said that KCR wants to hold on to it as much as possible so that the time runs out for February election.
Talasani represents the influential Yadav caste from the GHMC region. The Telangana Chief Minister roped him to strengthen the party in Hyderabad and successfully face the upcoming GHMC elections. It is rumoured that KCR’s son, KTR himself is not happy with the inclusion of TDP leaders in to the cabinet and he even gave the oath ceremony a miss due to the same reason.
