The alliance/merger talks between Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samiti are not progressing in the right direction. Harish Rao is fuming at Congress for joining its leaders while Senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh warned KCR that TRS will meet the same fate as Aam Admi Party if it is not merged with Congress. In the wake of these issues, KCR is also thinking on the lines of having an prepoll alliance with BJP to counter Congress.

“It is almost certain that UPA will not be coming to power for the third time in the center. Why should we align with a drowning ship? Why not we align with BJP?”, KCR reportedly told the key leaders in his Medak farm house. However few leaders have raised the issue of hurting muslims in Telangana whose votes are crucial in at least 30 constituencies in Telangana. A decision regarding this will be taken very soon.
