KCR Hyderbad Metro RailIt may be recalled that Telangana government immediately after coming to power proposed three alignment changes for the Hyderabad Metro at Sultaan Bazaar, Old Assembly Building and Old City. The concessionaire L&T had put a proposal that the changes in Sultaan Bazaar and Assembly alone will cost 2000 Crore which should be borne by Telangana government totally.

In the wake of this huge expense, sources say that Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is considering rolling back of the decision. On Tuesday, KCR held a review meeting on the progress of Metro Rail but not a single word is mentioned about the alignment changes.

KCR had proposed Metro Project to be extended to new routes – Raidurg to Shamshabad Airport, Falaknuma to Airport and Chandrayanagutta to LB Nagar. KCR asked the concessionaire to study feasibility of the project in these route. He also asked them to connect Metro to Nampally and Secunderabad Railway Stations.
