Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao opened the box of controversies once again. He attended the 89th birth anniversary celebrations of veteran lyricist and writer Dasaradhi held at Ravindra Bharathi Auditorium and spoke high of the poet who penned the popular song ‘Naa Telangana Koti Rathanala Veena’. KCR announced several incentives to the family of the poet and spoke at length about his greatness and need to respect him.

However KCR did not stop there. Speaking about no statue of Dasaradhi in Hyderabad, KCR said, “There are several useless statues on the Tankbund and other chaurasthas of Hyderabad. They do not belong to our people. There is one statue of Bellary Raghava. There is also a lesson on him in school books. He is no one and there is no need to know about him”. It is good that KCR recognizes great poet and writers like Dasaradhi but making such derogatory comments on great people like ‘Natyakala Prapoorna’ Bellary Raghava basing on their regions is highly condemnable.
