This may be a big shock to CNN-IBN who conducts ‘Indian of the Year’ awards every calendar year. For the year 2014, CNN has conducted a poll with six categories and Telangana Chief Minister KCR is currently leading in ‘Popular Choice’ category in second place with 20 percent votes. Aamir Khan who just shattered the box office records with his recent film ‘PK’ is just behind KCR in third place. Fourth place is taken by Indian army for their endeavors in Srinagar floods relief work last year. Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella is in 5th position behind KCR, Aamir and Indian army.
It’s interesting to find out the leading person in ‘Popular Choice’ category is a cop. IPS officer P. Vijayan from Kerala leads the poll in number one position. Vijayan worked as a labourer in the construction site and studied hard to clear civil exams. Vijayan has earned great reputation for introducing several people friendly cop ideas, his idea of enrolling Engineering student as cadets brought him lot of fame.
A cop like Vijayan leading ahead of popular faces like Aamir, KCR and several well known faces indicates how people admire honest police officials.
