KCR backtracks on University Lands

KCR backtracks on University LandsTelangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao faced a huge backlash from students after announcing that he will be using Osmania University land for building houses to weaker sections in Parsigutta. The stand off between the government and students even prompted KCR calling students as ‘immature brats’.

However given the huge uproar from the students, the government is now reconsidering its decision. Instead of the University lands, Telangana government is in taking with the Railway department which has huge unused lands in Parsigutta.

The government is planning six storeyed complexes. The government reportedly also offered to buy land from Railways if needed. However this can not be very easy since all the previous attempts of convincing Central government departments to part lands in Telangana did not work.
