The prestigious Hyderabad Metro Rail project is all set to come to a stand still. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandra Sekhar Rao is reportedly very unhappy with the project design and wants the authorities to change it. Mr.Rao said that his government will not allow Sultan Bazaar and other structures, which had heritage and historical importance to Telangana.
KCr reportedly said to the officials to consider going under ground wherever there is a possibility of heritage demolition. KCR is also of the concern that Metro Rail project was posing a threat even to the Assembly building and the Telangana Martyrs’ Memorial in front of the Assembly by passing very near to them. Officials says a realignment and underground proposal will mean that the project has to undergo several changes which means it could be delayed by several years.
