Ahead of the crucial GHMC elections, both the Telugu Chief Ministers have showered love on the people of GHMC area particularly settlers. Telangana government had decided to to collect Rs 101 nominal property tax from owners who have been paying Rs 1,200 as annual property tax. About five lakh house owners mainly settlers are likely to benefit from the government decision.
On the other side, Naidu’s government had taken the decision to pay the tuition fees of poor AP students in Hyderabad. This move also will please the settlers in GHMC area where they are disowned by the Telangana government. There are about 25,000 Andhra students who are pursuing professional courses in Telangana.
Both the Chief Ministers are leaving no stone unturned to ensure victory in the GHMC elections scheduled for later this year. Announcement of these schemes will tilt the electoral balance in their favour, both the parties hope.
