KCR and Jagan Face The Same Crisis with No Exit? The Corona Crisis had hit the finances of Governments across the globe very badly. The impact is very severe in places where the Lockdowns were in place. Both the Telugu States are up to the same and they had to defer the salaries of the Government employees for the first time in history.

This is just a week or so impact of the Lockdown in March and one can not stop wondering what is going to happen in April if the Lockdown is extended. Except for Maharashtra, no other state in the country deferred the salaries. This is because no other states in the country have welfare obligations like that of Jagan and KCR.

Jagan was able to taste power for the first time in his political career due to the promises he made before the elections and KCR managed to retain power in 2018 with a huge lot of welfare programs. Almost all the finances of the states go to salaries or welfare schemes.

There is no elbow space to cut the other expenditures at this juncture so employees had to face the brunt. Experts say that the impact of Coronavirus on the economy is going to be longterm. If that is the case, the future will be miserable for both the Telugu CMs. “Welfarism is like riding a tiger. You can not ride it and can not even get down,” said someone who aptly suits the present scenario.
