Kadapa MLC Elections Turn into a Tug of WarYSR Congress and Telugu Desam Party are involved in a tug of war for the upcoming Kadapa MLC Election. The ruling party is keen on defeating Opposition Leader Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Uncle, YS Vivekananda Reddy in his home turf while YSR Congress is focused on stamping its authority in Jagan’s home district.

YSR Congress is shifting its Local Body Representatives to Bengaluru until the polling to ensure that there are no defections. TDP has reacted late on the issue and has started a camp in Vijayawada and Amaravati. The district has a total 840 Members which includes MPTCs, ZPTCs, Councillors and Corporators.

But then YSR Congress is also equally confident. The winning candidate should get 421 votes at least for the victory. The Ruling Party started claiming that it has 446 Votes which will easily get them the MLC. But then both the sides have this fear of Cross-Voting which can change fortunes significantly.

B.Tech Ravi is contesting against Viveka in this seat. He is the TDP candidate against YS Vijayamma, the mother of Jagan Mohan Reddy, in 2011 by-poll in Pulivendula. YSR Congress has clear edge according to the original numbers but then local body elections are all about cross-voting and defections.
