Jr NTR had extensively campaigned for TDP in 2009 elections and also sustained a major injury. Many say that the injury ensured that he does not dance up to his potential in the films. After TDP’s defeat in that election, differences crept in between NTR, Nandamuri Family and TDP.
We are not in a position to judge who is right and who is wrong in that because there are two contrasting versions about what transpired between them suiting the agenda of the supporters on either sides. Finally, it is almost a decade since NTR distanced himself from Politics.
Just before the 2014 elections, there were rumours that Junior is supporting YSR Congress against TDP. His close-aide Kodali Nani joining YSR Congress and Vamsi trying to join the party worsened things and there were daggers on Junior from TDP fans alleging treachery to the party. NTR had to come before media and clarify he is with TDP.
There were rumours that his Father-in-law, Narne Srinivasa Rao would join YSR Congress but it was held up in the last minute. NTR and Nandamuri family came close after the sudden demise of Harikrishna. NTR and Balayya have been frequenting to each other’s film events. Many thought that Harikrishna’s daughter Suhasini contesting in Kukatpally will force NTR to campaign for the party but he still maintained the distance.
Now, Narne Srinivasa Rao met Jagan once again and is most likely to join the party soon. There are allegations and speculations about Junior’s commitment to TDP once again. Despite being away from politics for a decade now, NTR seems to be Destiny’s Favourite Child in Politics. Does that mean he is meant for Politics and cannot be kept at a distance to Politics?
