Jayalalithaa-and-Sasikala-Natarajan-Assets-ConfiscatedTamil Nadu government had taken the custody of 68 assets belonging to Late Jayalalitha and her jailed close-aide, Sasikala after they are convicted in the irregular assets case. Though 128 properties were actually attached in the case, the trial court ordered the confiscation of only 68. Assets in various places like Thiruvallur, Thuthikudi and other places were taken into government custody.

These assets can be used by the government or can be auctioned, according to the government order. Jaya’s Residence in Poes Garden and Estate in Kodinaadu are however not on the list. Interestingly, AIADMK government itself had to take over the assets of their leaders.

This case has haunted Jayalalithaa for many years but then she was finally freed from the case since she is no more. But her close aide Sasikala is serving a jail sentence in Parapanna Agarahara Prison near Bengaluru in this case.
