Janasena Performance Worst Among All The Third Alternative Parties That Emerged in Andhra PradeshPawan Kalyan’s Janasena Party just won one seat in the recent elections with Pawan Kalyan himself losing from Bhimavaram and Gajuwaka. This has come as a shock to the party supporters. 120 of the party candidates lost their deposits in 137 constituencies it has contested. The defeat has completely demoralized the party cadre and the failure is even bigger as we dig deeper into the numbers.

Andhra Pradesh has witnessed a Third Alternative Party emerging eight times since the United State Existence. Swatantra Party which was such party in 1962 and 1967 Assembly Elections polled 9.8% and 11.69% respectively. Janata Party got a whopping 26.33% in 1978 Assembly Elections. BJP in 1991 Lok Sabha Elections got 7.05%.

Lakshmi Parvathi’s NTR TDP registered 12.21% in 1996 Lok Sabha Elections and in 1998 Lok Sabha Elections, BJP again got 19.5%. To make the comparison more clear, Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam Party registered 17.76% Vote Share. But then, Pawan Kalyan’s Janasena Party just managed a 5.35% Vote Share.

That is the worst of all parties which emerged as Third alternatives in the past. This indicates that Janasena’s future is doubtful and the road ahead is very difficult for the party to sustain. The next five years are going to be a test for Pawan Kalyan‘s Patience. Janasena will have future only if Pawan Kalyan resist the temptation of going back to films and work for the people in the next five years.
