Telangana Congress MLAs had assembled together a short while ago and had elected former Home Minister Jana Reddy as leader of Congress Legislature Party. As Congress is the biggest opposition party, Jana Reddy will be the opposition leader in the Assembly. The entire process was supervised by Congress observers Digvijay Singh and Vayalar Ravi. The first Assembly session of Telangana will begin from 9th of this month.
Congress which granted Telangana state hoping of forming government there and winning majority MPs but people’s mandate went the other way and Congress is reduced to mere 21 MLAs and a single MP. Several Congress heavy weights too lost the elections. Among the MLAs remained, only Jana Reddy is a decent orator and more knowledgeable person than others. They will fight hard in the Assembly to regain the confidence of Telangana people.
