YS-Jagan-ReddyThe Bapatla Water Resources Department has called for tenders for the repair of sewers in the Krishna Delta. However, the new addition to the terms of the tender has drawn widespread criticism.

The department made it clear that they would pay the contractors only when they have the money. The provision stipulates that one should not go to court if the money is not paid in a timely manner.

Those ready to accept these conditions should only participate in the tenders. The contractors are how they can not ask for money after completing the work.

Earlier, the High Court has become serious about the government in delaying the bills of the Employment Guarantee Scheme.

The court ordered the bills to be cleared with interest.

Later many contractors have gone to court with similar concerns. Hence, the condition.

“It is like the government is saying ‘Gillithe Gillichukovali… Aravakudadhu’. Why should we do work with our money and wait endlessly? Why we should bear the pressure of interests?” the contractors are fuming.

The government is expected to get a dressing down by the courts if someone takes it to the courts’ notice.
