The voting for Tirupati by-polls has started this morning and there is massive outrage about bogus votes. TV channels are flooded with numerous videos of bogus voters getting busted by TDP leaders and media. There is a flurry of travel buses to Tirupati from other areas.
When the media tried to quiz the voters, they say they are going on a pilgrimage. They could neither produce a ticket nor say who arranged the free trip. The people in the buses are trying to evade media questions.
Some of these buses reach the convention center belonging to a minister from where they are sent separately to polling stations, according to Andhrajyothy. Many of such bogus voters were intercepted at the polling booths as well. The voters could not even tell their names on the voter cards they are carrying.
Andhrajyothy has done a special program showing all these ‘special buses’ and named the program ‘Jagananna Travels: New Scheme for Tirupati Bypolls’. Minister Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy fired on the channel when asked about it and said the TDP is trying to scare poor pilgrims going on religious trips.
