YS JaganKaikaluru TDP Incharge, former MLA Jayamangala Venkata Ramana is rumored to be joining YSR Congress. The Chief Minister reportedly promised him an MLC seat in return.

Jagan seems like taking Venkata Ramana into the party to damage the morale of TDP and also to get some Vysya votes due to the former MLA.

But then, the actual fact is that Venkata Ramana is not getting a TDP ticket in 2024.

Former Minister Kamineni Srinivasa Rao is likely to desert BJP and join TDP just before the elections. There is also a talk that Janasena is keen on having this seat as a part of the alliance.

Either way, Venkata Ramana is not getting a ticket in 2024.

Venkata Ramana won from Kaikaluru only once that too in 2009 with a margin of fewer than 1000 votes. He lost the same seat in 2019 by 9000 votes margin. Giving him an MLC seat is a waste for Jagan Mohan Reddy.

But the Chief Minister desperately wants some positivity after MLAs leave the party and is doing this as damage control.

Update:

“I am in TDP for now but group politics in the party is troubling me. I will think of party change if Jagan gives a clear promise on the promise of Kolleru farmers and local people. I will decide my future course of action after consulting with my cadre,” Venkata Ramana said.
