If the buzz in the media is to be believed, Leader of Opposition in Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is planning to send his sister Sharmila to Rajyasabha. YSR Congress can manage one Rajya Sabha seat with its current strength. There is immense competition for this seat within the party. Jagan feels that giving it to Sharmila will silence every one.
Sharmila is one of the lead campaigner of YSR Congress Party during the bielections and the general elections. She even did a Padayatra when YS Jagan is in jail and instilled confidence in the cadre and people. After the elections, she is completely absent from the political sphere.
It is earlier said that she may take the party reins in Telangana and also planned an Odarpu Yatra here but nothing happened. So Jagan may be bringing her back by giving this Rajyasabha seat. He is hoping that her comeback will rejuvenate the disillusioned party!
