YS Jagan‘s YCP registered a smashing victory in 2019 Andhra Pradesh elections. Not just the opposition party leaders, even a section of YCP troops attribute this victory to Jagan’s political strategist, Prashant Kishor.
Back then, it was said that Prashant, using his IPAC team, orchestrated false propaganda against the Chandrababu-led government which directly helped YS Jagan claim power in 2019.
But in an interesting turn of events, Jagan’s YCP has decided not to use Prashant’s services for the forthcoming 2024 elections. Jagan’s advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy announced that YSRC will not associate with Prashant for next election and they will go solo.
In just 3-year regime, it is widely believed that YCP government has amassed a lot of anti-incumbency. Now, even YCP troops are worried about the party’s decision to sideline Prashant Kishor who played a key role in the party’s victory in 2019.
A section of YCP leaders and supporters are of the opinion that Prashant’s departure will dent the party’s chance in the next elections. They are seeing this as the first defeat for the party before the 2024 elections.
