Jagan Taking Back Route To Hit TollywoodEarlier, Andhra Pradesh High Court suspended AP government’s recently passed G.O 35, which imposed restrictions on cinema ticket pricing. In response, the YS Jagan-led government has taken the back route to hit Tollywood.

An order from Guntur Collectorate read that all the cinema halls in the district should strictly implement G.O 35. The order states that theatre managements should follow the ticket pricing regulation and also screen only four shows per day. This came hours after the high court slashed the AP government’s G.O 35.

The collectorate’s order also mentions that the theatres that don’t abide by the G.O 35 might be seized and the managements will have to face the legal consequences. It is evident that Jagan and Co are hell-bent on imposing restrictions on Tollywood.

As Tollywood celebrated the high court’s decision to suspend the controversial GO 35, the Jagan government has dealt the industry with another big blow by taking the back route.

As per the high court’s order, the cinema ticket prices that were in effect prior to April 2021 will be put in place starting immediately. If that is the case, forthcoming releases like Pushpa, RRR, Radhe Shyam, and others can breathe a sigh of relief. But will the Jagan government give them the breathing space?
