The Election to 55 Rajya Sabha seats in 17 states will be held on March 26th. Four Seats are falling vacant in Andhra Pradesh. YSR Congress which has a brutal majority in AP Assembly is likely to bag all the four seats while TDP will lose one as one of its sitting MPs is retiring.
On the other side, there is a huge competition in the YSR Congress for these nominations. Sources say that Jagan already finalized the candidates for three seats. Pilli Subash Chandrabose and Mopidevi Venkataramana who will be out of the cabinet due to the abolition of the council are likely to be nominated.
Industrialist Ayodhya Rami Reddy who was one of the major financial supports for the party will get the third one. He is also one of the accused in Jagan’s cases. There is a bit of suspense over the fourth seat. TTD Chairman and Jagan’s Uncle YV Subba Reddy is expecting that. The pressure is on Jagan from BJP to renominate Parimal Natwani, a two-time Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament (MP) from Jharkhand.
Nathwani is considered a key associate of Mukesh Ambani as he is also a Group President (Corporate Affairs) of Reliance Industries. Ambani himself came down to Amaravati to convince Jagan. It is said that BJP High Command is also asserting pressure on Jagan to do the same.
