Jagan_Amaravati_FundsUnion Home Ministry officials had a meeting with officials of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana last month over bifurcation issues. In the meeting, Andhra Pradesh officials urged the Central Government to release funds for Amaravati.

They brought to the notice of the Central officials that the Siva Ramakrishnan committee recommended Central assistance to the tune of 29,000 Crore to Amaravati and demanded the release of those funds.

Back then, it has come as a surprise that Jagan Government is asking for funds for Amaravati when the capital construction was stopped completely.

Now, the minutes of that meeting are out and the Central Government’s reply is even more interesting.

“Three years ago, the current Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy wrote a letter to the Central Government about the misappropriation of Capital Funds. We are still waiting on the clarity about those allegations to consider releasing funds any further,” the Central officials said.

That means Jagan’s letter three years ago stopped the capital funds. He has to give clean chit to the then Chandrababu Naidu’s Government if there is a chance to get further funds.
