Jagan Resorts To Damage Control on Special Status Goofup? After severe criticism about his stance on the Special Status issue after coming to Power, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has taken redressal measures. The Chief Minister all of sudden got a resolution passed in the Assembly demanding the Special Status to Andhra Pradesh and rejected the Special Package offered.

The Resolution is not in the Business of the house but the Leader of the house requested the Speaker’s Permission. Jagan tried to push the blame on the then TDP Government saying that it did not pursue the issue with the Planning Commission. He also blamed that the TDP Government played dramas in the name of Special Package.

Interestingly, Jagan did not criticize the Narendra Modi Government in this issue. The House passed the resolution unanimously. In the first meeting with the Prime Minister after becoming the Chief Minister, Jagan in a press meet said that he can not do anything about the Special Status as BJP got a complete majority in the Parliament.

“Things would have been different if they ended up at 250. Now I can just say Sir Please Sir Please whenever I go to him,” Jagan said. This resolution seems to be a damage control measure to that statement as many questioned Jagan’s heroic statements in the opposition to ‘I Can’t Do Anything’ Acts now.
