YS Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is doing everything to trivialize Amaravati after coming to power. All the development there has come to a standstill and something called three capitals were brought up in the name of decentralization. But nothing has happened in any of the new capitals.
Meanwhile, the Government seems to be trying to erase ‘Amaravati’ from public memory as well. The Government has removed the ‘Amaravati‘ lesson from the tenth class Telugu book. The newly printed books were supplied by the school education department to the respective schools.
The tenth class Telugu textbook with 12 lessons about cultural glory was printed in 2014. The second lesson is about Amaravati. The lesson explains students from the cultural heritage of Amaravati of the prehistoric times to the current capital construction. The school education department removed the lesson and printed books with only 11 lessons.
The department Instructed teachers to take old Telugu books from students and provide new ones. But then since the textbooks’ arrival is delayed, the Amaravati lesson has been already taught to the students for this year. In case the Government has issues with Amaravati, the capital part should have been editing and history should have been taught to the children.
