Jagan - Only CM to Oppose Lockdown Extension?Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a crucial meeting via Video Conferencing with all the Chief Ministers in the country regarding the Lockdown extension and sought their opinions. Most Chief Ministers asked for the extension of the Lockdown in current form while a few chief ministers sought some relaxations.

But Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stood out as he is the only the Chief Minister to ask for the relaxation of the Lockdown. Jagan favored the Lockdown only in the Red Zone areas in Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, Telangana CM KCR favored the Lockdown extension by two weeks. He sought relaxations for Agriculture works and food-processing industry.

Sources say that Jagan Mohan Reddy is extremely worried about the impact of the Lockdown on the state finances. “The Government is due to pay for various welfare schemes like Rythu Bharosa and Amma Vodi in the next couple of months. So, Jagan wants the economic activity to resume,” a source said.

Meanwhile, twenty one new cases were recorded in Andhra Pradesh from Last Night to This Morning. This takes the total cases to 402. Kurnool has the got the highest number of cases in the state while Srikakulam and Vizianagaram districts did not register a single case till now.
