Our readers know that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had made nine promises before the 2019 elections, calling them Navaratnalu. Prohibition is one of those.
Jagan announced that he would ensure liquor is available only in five-star hotels by the 2024 elections.
He went on to say he would not seek votes without doing that.
But then, things have changed and the Jagan government is totally dependent on liquor revenue these days to run the government.
As a result, the Prohibition in Navaratnalu logo has been dropped and is replaced by ‘Liquor control’.
The change has been made silently without any fuss.
That means there is no more prohibition and the government is only confined to the namesake Liquor control.
Jagan makes tall claims about Maata Thappanu Madama Thappanu. But then, this particular issue says otherwise.
