YS Jagan government loans andhra pradesh financial situationThe Supreme Court has given a ruling on Tuesday that the state governments can not withdraw cases against MPs and MLAs without the consent of the state high court. This is after the reports that Governments withdraw the cases on their party MLAs and MPs after coming to power.

There are forty-five such cases withdrawn by Jagan Government after coming to power in June 2019. The majority of these cases are of Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy himself. Fifteen cases of the Chief Minister were withdrawn without going to courts. The cases were withdrawn citing reasons like mistake, mistake of fact, lack of evidence etc.

The high court has recently taken suo moto about lifting eleven cases. The second-highest number of cases lifted is of Government Chief whip, Samineni Udaya Bhanu. Ten cases of him were withdrawn by the Government. Three cases on Rajampeta MP Midhun Reddy, two cases on Rajanagaram MLA Jakkampudi Raja, and one each on Allagadda MLA Gangula Rajendranath Reddy, Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, Pedana MLA Jogi Ramesh, Minister Perni Nani, and Sarvepalli MLA Kakani Govardhan Reddy.

All of the withdrawn cases are of YSR Congress leaders only. Very much the reason why the Supreme Court is not happy.
