Regional Parties are usually a man-centric or a family-centric. The success of such parties will depend on how well they lead the party and keep the folk together. Such parties are often put to test when they are not in power and it is a crisis if they are out of power for a long time or do not come to power.
YSR Congress also harbors similar problems. The party did not come into power in the first election after its inception. But the party’s leaders are sticking to it since there is no other alternative in the opposition. Nandhyal and Kakinada elections indicate that 2019 is going to be still tough signaling a crisis in YSR Congress.
Gautam Reddy, the other day made some scathing remarks on Vangaveeti Ranga, Vangaveeti Radha, and Malladi Vishnu in a TV interview which led to his suspension. YSR Congress is shell-shocked because it will have repercussions on Kapu Community. Such fissures between leaders and indiscipline are meant to creep in when the party is in crisis.
In this case, Gautam Reddy is a relative of YS Bharathi. Such issues and defections will only increase in the coming days and Jagan’s Leadership will be put to test for the first time. It has to be seen how YSR Congress will scrap through this crisis.
