Andhra Pradesh is a Power Surplus State after the Bifurcation. Except due to Technical issues, there are barely any Power Cuts in the State in Chandrababu Naidu’s Regime. But ever since, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assumed Power, there are frequent Power Cuts across the state and that too in the Peak Summer.
The other day, a few people have protested in Rajamahendravaram against the Power Cuts. This is a serious issue which will impact everyone from newborns to the bedridden old people and brings bad name to the government. Jagan has to take a cue from his new friend in Telangana, KCR.
Telangana is a Power Deficit State and the State Government is spending huge money to buy power from Private Players and ensure uninterrupted Power Supply to Domestic, Agriculture, and Industrial Use. Telangana is spending highest in the country for acquiring power since KCR is aware that it is a sensitive issue.
Jagan Mohan Reddy is doing no good to himself by ignoring the issue and he will lose out when compared to Chandrababu’s Rule. Sources in the government say that this is a kind of Money Saving. But the people may not buy this argument vis-a-vis their hardships with the severe heatwave prevalent in the State.
