YS Jagan Comments on Amaravati agitationState Election Commissioner, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar has approached Andhra Pradesh High Court once again. He complained to the court that the Government is not giving the funds necessary for the Election Commission for regular maintenance.

He also brought to the notice of the court that the Government is not co-operating with the commission for the conduct of the Local Body Elections. He asked the court to interfere and ensure that the Government releases the funds.

According to Article 243 (K), it is illegal to stop the funds for the State Election Commission. The Principal Secretary of the Finance Department and Principal Secretary of the Panchayat Raj were made the defendants in this Petition.

It looks like Jagan Mohan Reddy Government is not keen on going for the Local Body elections under Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar. The Government sees him as a man of Chandrababu Naidu and went to the extent of scrapping him. The Government had to reinstate him after a long-drawn legal battle.
